Pharmacological properties

ATCvet QP52A, Protitrematodni veterinary drugs (ATCvet QP52AC11, albendazole)

The active ingredient of the drug – albendazole – methyl [5- (propylsulfanyl) -1 n-benzimidazol-2-yl] carbamate, belongs to the group of benzimidazole. Albendazole inhibits protein (tubular) synthesis, resulting in disturbed flow and the intracellular transport of nutrients and exchange of adenosine triphosphate and glucose. Reduced mitochondrial reaction through inhibition fumaratreduktazy that causes a decrease in the amount of glycogen and the death of the parasite from exhaustion.

Application

Dosage

The drug is administered orally in admixture with a feed at doses of:

1 tablet per 300 kg body weight. When antitrematode 1 tablet per 250 kg body weight.

Contraindications

The drug can not be applied to females in the first 45 days of pregnancy, and a month before the birth.

Caution

After the drug not be used in food:

Meat – 12 days, milk – for 3 days.

Not be used simultaneously with other anthelmintics.
