DESCRIPTION. Sterile clear colorless solution.
PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS.
Novocaine has a local anesthetic effect, reduces the formation of acetylcholine and reduces the excitability of peripheral cholinoceptive systems; blocks autonomic ganglia, reduces spasms of smooth muscles, reduces the excitability of heart muscle, motor cortex of the brain. Novocaine has low toxicity for animals.
APPLICATION.
1% solution of novocaine is used for wiring and epidural anesthesia and for intra-aortic injection.
DOSAGE.
Dosage and frequency of application depends on body weight and course of disease.
Maximum single dose per animal: horse – 200- 250 ml; cattle – 150-200 ml; dogs – 30-50 ml.
Before application novocaine solution should be heated to body temperature of the animal.
CONTRAINDICATIONS.
Individual hypersensitivity to novocaine, hypotension, purulent processes at the injection site.
PRECAUTIONS.
Do not exceed maximum doses! Intravenous injection of drug in maximum doses causes excitability.
STORAGE.
Store in a dry, dark place, inaccessible to children at temperature from 5°C to 25°C.
Expiration date of the drug – 3 years.

PACKAGING
Glass ampoules 5, 10, 20 ml or glass bottles, closed with a rubber stopper under an aluminum cap 50, 100 and 200 ml.
