PHARMACOLOGICAL  CHARACTERISTICS

Calcium  chloride  activates  the  reticuloendothelial  system and  phagocytic  function  of  leukocytes,  increases  the tone of the sympathetic innervation, increases excretion of adrenaline activates the synthesis of enzymes. Calcium ions are necessary for work of skeletal muscles and myocardium, formation of bone tissue, sealing the walls of blood vessels, have antiinflammatory effect, prevent development of edema. These ions are present in the process of hemocoagulation, contribute to the transformation of prothrombin to thrombin.

APPLICATION

Solution of calcium chloride 10% for injection is used as an anti-inflammatory agent for treatment  of  animals  with  pneumonia,  pleurisy,  peritonitis, toxic liver damage, parenchymatous hepatitis, nephritis, radiation  sickness,  toxic  pulmonary  edema,  hypertension and pulmonary edema, laryngeal edema, edema disease of pigs, as a hemostatic agent in case of nasal, gastrointestinal, lung, uterine and postoperative bleedings. As desensitizing agent in case of allergic diseases (asthma, serum sickness, itchy skin disease, scarlatina of  horses,  chronic  urticaria  of  horses  and  cattle)  and allergic  complications  after  the  use  of  medicines.  As soothing, normalizing the nervous system product during vegetative neurosis, eclampsia of dogs, false milk fever, paralytic  myoglobinuria  of  horses.  In  obstetric  practice (in case of endometritis, metritis, for stimulation of paturation, accelerating separation of animals heam, prevention of abortion, in case of maternity paresis, postpartum hematuria of cows). Apply with hypotonia and atony of cattle proventriculus, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, tetany of  young  animals,  for  improvement  of  calcium  level  in blood, withdrawal of seizures, assign as an antidote for poisoning by magnesium salts, oxalic acid, soluble salts of fluorine and oxalic acids.

DOSAGE

The drug is injected only slowly intravenously!

Slowly at doses (ml per animal):

cattle – 150-400;

horses – 100-300;

sheep, goats – 10-30;

pigs – 10-20,

dogs – 5-15.

Before the injection the drug is heated to body temperature of the animal. Apply 1 time per day. If necessary, repeat the treatment after 24-48 hours.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not apply to animals with tendency to thrombosis, high level of calcium blood. Do not  apply  subcutaneously  or  intramuscularly,  causing severe irritation and tissue necrosis.

SIDE  EFFECTS

Sometimes  is  possible  slowdown  of animals rate that passes quickly and independently.

PRECAUTIONS

Before the injection of the drug must be heated to body temperature of the animal. The drug is injected slowly, making sure the syringe needle is in the lumen of the vein. In case of rapid injection may occur ventricular fibrillation of the heart. If in case of injection part of the drug got subcutaneously, it is necessary to inject a large amount of isotonic solution sodium chloride 0.9% around the place of injection for preventation of tissue necrosis. The drug has antagonistic action to drugs magnesium, reacts with oxalic acid and its salts, fluoride acid forming toxic compounds.

STORAGE

Dry,  dark  place  at  temperature  from  0  to 25°C.

Expiration date in ampoules – 10 years, in bottles – 3 years.

100 ml containing active substances (g): calcium chloride crystal – 10.0.
