DESCRIPTION

Transparent  colorless  or  slightly  yellowish liquid.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Сalcium Borogluconate  20%  increases  level  of  calcium  in  the blood, has desensitizing, anti-toxic and anti-inflammatory actions, reduces the permeability of capillary vessels, stimulates  metabolism,  strengthens  the  heart  muscle. Calcium activates the reticuloendothelial system and increases the phagocytic function of leukocytes. Сalcium Borogluconate  does  not  irritate  tissues  at  the  place  of injection, is quickly resorbed and well accepted by the body. After injection of the drug active substances are quickly absorbed from the injection place and distributed in organs and tissues.

APPLICATION

The drug is used for prevention and treatment of diseases caused by lack of calcium in the body  (rickets,  tetany,  osteomalacia,  in  case  of  decalcification  of  the  body  during  pregnancy  and  lactation, prenatal and postnatal bed sores, postpartum paresis, heam delay, postpartum eclampsia);

•  inflammatory processes (pneumonia, peritonitis, pleurisy, nephritis, endometritis, metritis, rheumatic inflammation of horses hooves);

•  allergic diseases (rash, serum sickness), shock, transport disease;

•  congestion and pulmonary edema, laryngeal edema, edema disease of pigs;

•  hypotonia and atony of proventriculus of cattle;

•  as an antidote at poisoning by magnesium salts, oxalic acid, soluble salts of oxalic and fluorine acids; toxic liver damages, toxic pulmonary edema;

•  as a hemostatic agent at nasal, gastrointestinal, lung, uterine and postoperative bleeding, hemorrhagic diathesis.

DOSAGE

The drug is injected once intravenously (slowly),  subcutaneously,  intramuscularly  at  a  dose  of 0.5 ml per 1 kg of body weight.

The maximum single dose is (in ml per animal):

Cattle – 250-300;

Horses – 150-200;

Sheep, goats – 50-100;

Pig – 30-100;

Dogs – 5-25;

Cats – 2-10.

If necessary, the drug is administered repeatedly at the same dose after 24 hours.

In case of intravenous injection drug is heated to body temperature of the animal and injected slowly. In case of subcutaneous and intramuscular injection dose is divided and injected in different areas of the body.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use with renal and cardiovascular disease, hypercalcemia.

PRECAUTIONS

Before  intravenous  injection  drug should be heated to body temperature of the animal and injected slowly. Do not exceed the recommended dose. In case of subcutaneous injection at place of application possible insignificant swelling that disappear within 1-2 hours. In case of subcutaneous and intramuscular administration drug is injected in different areas of the body. Do not use in conjunction with drugs of cardiac glycosides and tetracycline antibiotics. Do not use simultaneously with foxglove and Strophanthus glycosides.

STORAGE

Dry, dark, place inaccessible to children at temperature from 5°C to 25°C.

Expiration date – 2 yearsfrom date of manufacture.

100 ml contains active substances (g): calcium gluconate – 20,0; boric acid – 1,8; sodium tetraborate – 1,3. Excipients: water for injection.
