DESCRIPTION.
Transparent colorless liquid.
PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS.
Chloramphenicol – an antibiotic with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, active against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Shigella spp., Brucella spp., Pasteurella tularensis, Escherichia coli, Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, and rickettsia (Rickettsia spp.), mycoplasma (Mycoplasma spp.), chlamydia (Chlamydia spp.). Action of chloramphenicol consists in binding with 50S rybosomal subunit, leading to inhibition of protein synthesis in bacteria.
APPLICATION.
Treatment of dogs, cats, rodents in conjunctivitis, keratitis, infected wounds of the eye, corneal ulcers, caused by microorganisms sensitive to chloramphenicol. Prevention of postoperative complications.
DOSAGE.
The drug is dropped 2-3 drops in a sick eye 2 times a day for 3-10 days depending on the course of disease.
CONTRAINDICATIONS.
Increased individual sensitivity to chloramphenicol.
PRECAUTIONS.
The product is not compatible with antibiotics from the group of quinolones and with ristomycin, penicillin; inhibits the antimicrobial effect of β-lactam antibiotics.
STORAGE.
Dry, dark and inaccessible to children place at temperature from 5°C to 25°C.
Expiration date – 3 years from manufacturing date.
After opening of the bottle drug is used during 10 days under the condition of storage in a dark place at temperature from 5°C to 25°C.
