Clear oily liquid from light yellow to brown color with a specific smell.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

ATCvet QPS3A, ectoparasitic drugs for local application (ATCvet QP53AF01, phoxim)

The active substance of the drug phoxim – ecto­parasiticide of organophosphates, which acts as a contact poison, causing irreversible inhibition of cholinesterase activity that in the cholinergic sys­tem causes disorder in the parasite transmission of nerve impulses, paralysis and death.

Phoxim has high acaricidal and insecticidal effec­tiveness in combination with low toxicity to mam­mals.

APPLICATION

Treatment of cattle, sheep, pigs with lesions of ectoparasites: itch ticks (Psoroptes, Sarcoptes, Chorioptes) lice, sheep ked, flies and fly larvae in wounds.

Cattle: treatment of lesions of ectoparasites: itch ticks (Psoroptes, Sarcoptes, Chorioptes), lice (Hae­matopinus eurystermus), lice (Bovicola bovis), flies and fly larvae in wounds.

Pigs: treatment of lesions of ectoparasites: itch ticks (Psoroptes, Sarcoptes,Chorioptes), lice, flies and fly larvae in wounds.

Sheep: treatment of lesions of ectoparasites: itch ticks (Psoroptes, Sarcoptes,Chorioptes), lice (Li­nognathus pedalis), lice (Bovicola ovis), sheep ked (Melophagus ovinus), flies and fly larvae in wounds.

DOSAGE. Treatment of sheep, cattle and pigs is performed as pour-on solution by bathing, washing and spraying.

Washing and spraying

Аlice, sheep ked, flies, ticks and ixodic tick fly larvae – once with a solution at a rate of 10 ml of Phoxim per 10 liters of water;

Бitch ticks (Psoroptes, Sarcoptes, Chorioptes) – twice with an interval of 7 days at a rate of 10 ml of Phoxim per 10 liters of water. In case of severe lesions Phoxim concentration doubles – 20 ml of Phoxim per 10 liters of water.

The method of washing

It is recommended to do the washing for each ani­mal individually. Washing the whole body is made with a sponge.

The method of spraying

It is recommended for both individual and for group processing. Different types of sprayers with pres­sure of at least 6 bar (5 atm.) are used. Particular attention is paid to the spaces of possible accumu­lation of parasites (udder, behind the ears, in the perineum and under the tail).

For spraying such amount of working solution per animal is used: for cattle – 3-4 liters; pigs – 0.5-1 l; sheep – 2-3 The method of bathing.

Bathing solution prepared at the rate of 1 liter product per 1000 liters of water. An animal is is immersed into a solution with his head. After using of 10-20% of the solution the volume is supplemented with previously prepared solution: 0.2 liters of Phoxim per 100 liters of water. With an average consumption of 3.5 liters of solution per animal and volume capacity of 1000 liters for bathing supplement of solution should be done after processing of 30-60 animals.

Method of bathing: animals with itch ticks.

All animals in the herd should be treated. The animals are immersed in a solution with a head for 30 seconds. The head should dive twice. It is necessary also to process periodically possible sources of ectoparasites in places where animals are kept (cracks, fences, equipment, etc.).

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use for the sick and exhausted animals.

Do not use simultaneously with cholinesterase inhibitors.

Do not apply to animals in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (Phoxim and additional substances).

Do not use to animals with skin damages.

PRECAUTIONS

Slaughter of cattle and pigs for meat is permitted in 28 days, sheep – in 35 days after the last treatment with the drug.

Do not use for females during lactation milk of which is used in food to people.

The product is only for external use. Avoid getting of the drug on the mucous membranes or eyes of animals. Avoid excessive or improper application of the drug. Prevent getting of the drug in the digestive tract and the respiratory system. In case of animal reactions to the drug stop usage of it.

The treatment of animals is carried out in open areas or in a well ventilated area.

During the treatment of animals is necessary to use rubber gloves, protective clothing (long sleeve shirt, long pants, and waterproof boots), and goggles. Contaminated clothing should be washed with detergents or utilized.

When processing of animals with the drug do not inhale its vapors. Do not spray a solution of the drug against the wind. When spraying working solution indoors you must use protective mask (FFP3 protective mask against fine dust). Do not spray the drug in the presence of people.

When working with the drug it is forbidden to smoke, drink, eat. Avoid contact with eyes, open areas of the body and mucous membranes. In case of contact with skin, skin should be thoroughly washed with soap and water, in case of contact with eyes – rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. In case of drug poisoning symptoms seek medical advice.

The product is very toxic to aquatic organisms and bees. Do not pollute rivers, reservoirs and dams product residues. When spraying animals keep a 10-meter distance to water and avoid getting the drug into the water.

Utilize empty packaging in accordance with current legislation, without polluting the environment.

After processing of animals working solution should be deactivated 1 kg slaked calx per 100 liters of solution (1% solution). Alkaline substances react for 96 hours (to reduce the concentration of phoxim to 0.2%), then the solution can be mixed with fertilizer or manure.

STORAGE

Keep the medication in a closed packagin, in a dry place inaccessible to children or animals, away from food and feed, at temperatures from 5°C to 25°C.

Expiration date – 2.5 years from the date of manufacture, the working solution is suitable for 2 days.
