СOMPOSITION
1 g of the drug contains active substances: iodoform – 20 mg;
streptocide – 20 mg;
zinc oxide – 20 mg.
Excipients: up to 1g.
DESCRIPTION. The powder is white with a yellowish tint with a specific smell.
PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS. Iodoform is a powerful broad-spectrum antiseptic. Under the influence of light, tissue and atmospheric oxygen, tissue juices iodoform slowly decomposes with the release of pure iodine. Iodine has antimicrobial, deodorant, anti-inflammatory and dissolving actions, promotes granulation and cleaning of wounds. On the surface of the wound albuminates iodine are formed, as a result appears astringent and anesthetic effect, preventing stimulation of the receptors. Streptocide has bactericidal effect. Zinc oxide dries the wound.
APPLICATION. Externally for treatment of cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats with the following diseases: infected and surgical wounds, ulcers, fistulas, weeping eczema, dermatitis, tenosynovitis, cellulitis, lymphadenitis, wounds that are difficult to heal.
DOSAGE. Externally. Before applying, the affected area clean from hair, foreign bodies, fluid, necrotic material. Affected areas of skin powder with a drug (2-3 g per 5 cm2 of the affected area) and 2-4 cm around them. Affected areas are treated 1-2 times a day. Repeated treatment is carried out by surgical indications.
CONTRAINDICATIONS. Do not apply with increased individual sensitivity (allergy) to the drug.
PRECAUTIONS. Not established.
STORAGE. Dry, dark place on the shelves at temperature from 4°C to 35°C and air relative humidity not higher than 70%. Do not store together with food.
