DESCRIPTION. Suspension  of  white  or  light  cream color.

PHARMACOLOGICAL  CHARACTERISTICS.

Mastopred – combined antimastitis drug which includes cloxacillin sodium salt, neomycin sulfate, and prednisolone.

Cloxacillin  sodium  salt  –  a  semisynthetic  antistaphylococcal  penicillin-resistance  antibiotic  of  the  penicillin group. Cloxacillin is active against penicillinase-producing  strains  of  Staphylococcus  spp.,some species of gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.

Neomycin sulfate is aminoglycoside antibiotic which has bactericidal effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Е. соlі, Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., Enterobacter spp., Serratia spp., Shigella spp., Mycoplasma spp., Staphylococcus spp.

Prednisolone  –  a  dehydrated  analogue  of  hydrocortisone,  which  has  anti-inflammatory,  desensitizing  and anti-allergic effects.

Prednisolone stimulating steroid receptors induces the formation of a special class of proteins – lipocortins, possessing  anti-edema  activity,  reduces  capillary  permeability and reduces the activity of hyaluronidase.

APPLICATION.

Use for the treatment of acute mastitis caused by sensitive to components of drug microorganisms of cows during lactation.

DOSAGE. Before injection of the drug affected share of the  udder  carefully  milk  and  conduct  aseptic  processing of breast. The pre-heated to 35-37 ° C and shaked homogeneous solution is slowly injected into dairy feed directly from the syringe tube or using a 10 ml syringe and  milk  catheter.  After  injection  conduct  gentle  massage of udder share from top to bottom. Repeated injections conduct after the evening milking of cows every day during 2-3 days.

CONTRAINDICATIONS.

Do not apply to animals with individual hypersensitivity to antibiotics of the penicillin group, neomycin sulfate, prednisolone.

PRECAUTIONS. During treatment and for 48 hours after the last injection, milk from sick share the udder milk in a separate bowl and recycle. Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed in 7 days after the last injection.

STORAGE.

Dry, dark, inaccessible to children at temperature from 4°C to 25°C.

Expiration date – 18 months from date of manufacture.

Syringe tubes 10 ml, glass bottles 50 or 100 ml.

сloxacillin sodium salt – 30 mg;

neomycin sulfate – 15 mg;

prednisolone – 1 mg
