Oxytocin – 10 units.<\/p>\n

Excipients: sodium hydroxide, water for injections.<\/p>\n

Pharmacological properties<\/p>\n

ATCvet QN01, hypothalamus and pituitary hormones (QH01BB02, oxytocin).<\/p>\n

Oxytocin – a hormone of the hypothalamus, which consists of pentapeptydnoho cycle and side chain residues of three amino acids that accumulate in the posterior pituitary. It increases the permeability of sodium myofibrils uterus, stimulating its contraction. Threshold oxytocin induced contractions of the uterus decreases during pregnancy, high estrogen or if the animal has already begun delivery.<\/p>\n

Oxytocin is decomposed in the gastrointestinal tract, so it should be administered parenterally. After intramuscular administration of the drug effect observed after 3-5 minutes.<\/p>\n

Application<\/strong><\/p>\n

The drug is used females and domestic animals (cows, mares, sheep, goats, sows, sukam, cats) to stimulate or enhance uterine contractions during labor (hypotension, and atony of the uterus), for the treatment of postpartum litter delay in the complex treatment of metritis to accelerate involution of the uterus after childbirth, and to stimulate at agalactia of milk; uterine bleeding; for the release of breast milk or inflammatory exudate in the treatment of mastitis.<\/p>\n

Batching<\/strong><\/p>\n

The drug is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously once in doses:<\/p>\n

cows, mares – 3-6 ml (30-60 IU) on the head;<\/p>\n

sheep, goats – 1-1,5 ml (OD 10-15) on the head;<\/p>\n

sows – 2-3 ml (20-30 IU) on the head;<\/p>\n

bitch – 0.5-1 mL (5-10 IU) on the head;<\/p>\n

cats – 0.2-0.3 ml (2.3 IU) on the head.<\/p>\n

If you need a quick response is possible with intravenous glucose solution. This dose of oxytocin reduce by 30%.<\/p>\n

Contraindication<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hypersensitivity to oxytocin.<\/p>\n

Oxytocin is contraindicated in animals with incoordination of labor that emerged against the background of improper location of the fetus. When oxytocin before delivery should wait for a relaxation of the cervix by regular or pre-enter estrogen.<\/p>\n

Reservation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do not use with drugs-analogues.<\/p>\n

Do not use in poorly disclosed cervix or malposition.<\/p>\n

Intravenous drug use and only need to enter only slow!<\/p>\n

Cautious use the drug (especially intravenous administration) animals with disorders of the cardiovascular system through its possible influence on it (lowering blood pressure), and animals with kidney disease (due to antidiuretic effect of the drug).<\/p>\n

Product<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ampoules glass 2, 5, 10 ml; glass bottles of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 ml, closed with a rubber stopper under an aluminum run.<\/p>\n

Storage<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dry, dark place or refrigerator at a temperature of 3\u00baS to 12\u00baS.<\/p>\n
