Description

In veterinary medicine used in the form of oxytetracycline base, hydrochloride and dihydrate. Oxytetracycline base – an amorphous substance pale yellow, poorly soluble in water. Oxytetracycline hydrochloride dihydrate and – yellow crystalline substance, odorless, bitter taste, very soluble in water.

Pharmacological properties

Oxytetracycline – antibiotic tetracycline group produced by Streptomyces rimosus. It has a wide range of antibacterial action is active against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including E. coli, salmonella, staphylococci, streptococci, rickettsiae and certain species of mycoplasma; no effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus, most fungi and small viruses. The mechanism of antibacterial action of oxytetracycline is based on suppressed protein synthesis of microbial cell (ribosome function block) and blockade of RNA synthesis.

Usege

Treatment of cattle, pigs and poultry for diseases of the digestive tract and lyhannya, caused by organisms susceptible to oxytetracycline.

 Dosage

Apply oksytetratsyklyn orally 2 times a day in doses of 1 kg of animal: cattle 10-20 mg, 15-30 pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks 20-50 mg.

Contraindications

Individual animal hypersensitivity to tetracycline antibiotics group.

 Warning

The slaughter of animals for meat is permitted no earlier than 6 days after the last administration of the drug. Meat from animals slaughtered forced to the expiration of the term can be used to feed carnivorous animals or processing of meat and bone meal.

Milk obtained from animals during treatment and for 2 days after the last injection of oxytetracycline, not be used for food purposes. This milk can be used after heat treatment for animal feed.

Preparations

Laminated bags for 2, 5, 10, 20, 50g and/or polymer 20, 50, 100, 500 g; 1 kg; containers polymeric for 20 h.

 Storage

Dry dark, place inaccessible to children at temperature from 18 °C to 25 °C.

Shelf life – 4 years from date of manufacture.
