Structure

1 ml of the drug contains the active substance:

kanamycin sulfate – 250 mg.

Pharmacological properties

Kanamycin – an antibiotic, which belongs to the group of aminoglycosides. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella spp., Some species Proteus spp. TA Serratia spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus aureus, Serpulina hyodysenteriae, Mycoplasma spp. Kanamycin binds to 30S ribosomal subunit and blocks protein synthesis in the bacterial cell.

Application

Treatment of septicemia, mastitis, abscesses, cellulitis, and respiratory diseases, urogenital system and the skin, caused by microorganisms sensitive to kanamycin, cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, dogs, cats and poultry (chickens, turkeys).

Dosage

Intramuscularly, subcutaneously or by slow intravenous injection in a dose of:

Cattle and horses – 2 ml per 100 kg m. m., once a day;

foals and calves – 2 ml per 50 kg m. m., once a day;

pigs and sheep – 2 ml per 50 kg m. m., once a day;

dogs and cats – 0.1 ml per 1 kg of m. m., once a day;

Poultry (broilers, turkeys) – 0.1 ml per 1 kg of m. m., once a day.

The course of treatment is 3 – 5 days.

Contraindications

Increased sensitivity to kanamycin. Do not use in animals with impaired kidney function, hearing and balance. Do not use concomitantly with other aminoglycoside antibiotics and antibiotics, have nephrotoxicity (polymyxin B, colistin, amphotericin B, chloramphenicol, cephalosporins, erythromycin), as well as muscle relaxants and anesthetics (halothane), sulfate-nilamidami, heparin, B vitamins, diuretics means (furosemide).

Cautions

Slaughter of animals for meat and milk consumption in the food people are allowed, respectively, 6 and 4 days after the last treatment. Received by the deadline meat and milk fed or disposed of unproductive animals, according to a doctor of veterinary medicine.
