Bicinovet-3 is a bactericidal antibiotic belonging to the group of penicillins, which are sensitive to the action of β-lactamases.
Description
Powder white or white with a slightly yellowish shade of color.
Compound
1 bottle of the drug contains active substances:
benzylpenicillin benzathine sterile – 200000 IU,
Benzylpenicillin Sodium Salt Sterile – 200000 IU,
benzylpenicillin of novocaine salt is sterile – 200000 IU.
Pharmacological properties
Bicinovet-3 is a bactericidal antibiotic belonging to the group of penicillins, which are sensitive to the action of β-lactamases.
The drug inhibits the formation of peptide bonds due to the inhibition of transpeptidase, violates the late stages of the peptidoglycan synthesis of the cell membrane, which leads to the lysis of the cells that divide.
Bicinovet-3 is active against gram-positive bacteria, particularly for Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae), Staphylococcus spp. (except for producing penicillinase), Bacillus spp., L. monocytogenes, erysipelotrix (E. rhusiopathiаe), most coronabacteria and anaerobic bacteria (actinomycetes, Peptostreptococcus spp., Clostridium spp.), spirochaet (Treponema spp., Borrelia spp. , Leptospira spp.). The drug is insensitive to most gram-negative bacteria, the simplest, viruses, fungus and rickettsia. Of the gram-negative bacteria to the preparation, only Neisseria spp., Pasteurella multocida, H. Dugreyi are susceptible to the drug.
Application
Treatment of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, foxes, polar foxes, worms and dogs, patients with necrobacteriosis, pasterelosis, pneumonia, mastitis, metritis, wound infection, otitis, septicemia, phlegmon; actinomycosis, emphysematous carbuncle; streptococcal septicemia of cattle, sheep and goats; hippopotamus, stahoidotrotoxicosis, streptococcus, staphylococcosis, infectious stomatitis, rhinitis, plague of fur animals and dogs, bestial swine, as well as diseases of the urinary tract, caused by microorganisms susceptible to benzylpenicillin.
Dosage
The suspension for injection is prepared sterile, immediately before use. Bicinovet-3 after adding 5-6 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution or sterile water for injections, or 0,25-0,5% of novocaine solution should be shaken until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
The drug is injected intramuscularly once every 5-6 days in a dose:
| Kind of animals | Dose of the drug (thousand units per kg of body weight) | |
| Adult animals | Young | |
| Cattle | 10 | 15 |
| Sheep, goats | 15 | 20 |
| Pigs | 10 | 20 |
| Horses | 10 | 12 |
| Foxes, polar foxes, worms, dogs | 40 | 60 |
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to the drugs of the penicillin or novocaine group.
Do not apply to marmalade and hamsters.
Warning
Before injection, it is necessary to conduct a preliminary intradermal test for tolerability of the preparation!
Bicinovet-3 is injected only intramuscularly! Intravenous injection of the drug is prohibited!
The suspension is prepared sterile, directly before use.
The slaughter of animals for meat and the consumption of milk for human consumption is allowed, respectively, in 14 days and 7 days after the last application of the drug. Obtained before the specified date, meat and milk are disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinary medicine physician.
Do not mix Bicinovet-3 solution with other injectable solutions.
When used simultaneously with bactericidal antibiotics (including cephalosporins, cycloserine, vancomycin, rifampicin, aminoglycosides) there is a synergistic effect; with bacteriostatic antibiotics (including macrolides, chloramphenicol, linzamides, tetracycline) – antagonism.
It is not recommended to combine with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Benzylpenicillin reduces clearance and increases the toxicity of methotrexate.
Form of release
Glass bottles, closed with a rubber crust under an aluminum rim, on 600000 units.
Storage
A dark dark, inaccessible place for children at a temperature from 5 ° C to 25 ° C.
The drug should be stored separately from food and beverages, including animal feed.
Expiration date – 3 years.
