Pharmacological properties

ATC vet classification code QJ01 – antibacterial veterinary medicines for systemic use.

Tylosin tartrate – a mixture of macrolide antibiotics produced by a strain of Streptomyces fradiae, comprising mainly tylosin A. The drug is active against gram-positive bacteria (Actinomycos spp., Bacillus antracis, Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Diplococcus spp.), gram-negative microorganisms (Pastuerella multocida, Salmonella spp., Actinobacillus spp., Fusobacterium spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Leptospira spp., Haemophilus spp., Bacteroides nodosus, Moraxella spp., Proteus mirabilis), and as chlamydia (Clamidia spp.), mycoplasma (Micoplasma spp.).

Tylosin tartrate reveals bacteriostatic effect by inhibition of protein synthesis (via irreversible connection with pidodynytsyamy 50S bacterial ribosomes) and microbial cell growth and reproduction, respectively.

Application

Treatment of swine (pigs), rabbits, dogs, cats, young and adult poultry (chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks) pneumonia, pneumonia, arthritis, acute enteritis, dysentery, skin disease, leptospirosis, postoperative and postpartum infection, secondary bacterial infection in viral diseases, and respiratory diseases and digestive tract, caused by pathogens susceptible to tylosin tartrate.

Contraindication

Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to tylosin tartrate.

Do not use in animals with disorders of the liver and kidneys.

Do not use the drug simultaneously with penicillins, cephalosporins, lincomycin.

Reservation

Slaughter of animals for meat (pigs, rabbits, poultry) for human consumption is allowed after 8 days after the last administration of the drug. Received by the deadline fed meat unproductive animals, according to a doctor of veterinary medicine.
