СOMPOSITION

1 ml contains active ingredient:

levamisole hydrochloride – 75 mg.

PACKAGING

Glass bottles of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 ml, closed with a rubber stopper under an aluminium cap.

 

DESCRIPTION. Clear colorless solution.

PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS. АТС vet QP52A, anti-distomiasis, anti-nematodosis and anti-cestodiasis veterinary drugs (QP52AE01, le­vamisole).

Levamisole hydrochloride – levoisomer, belongs to the group of imidazole and is biologically active derivative of tetramisole, is safer than tetramisole. Braking enzyme of acetylcholinesterase, it affects the neuromuscular sys­tem of the parasite, it causes contraction of muscles and paralysis leading to death. It also inhibits the metabolism of carbohydrates in the body of parasites, which blocks the synthesis of ATP.

Levamisole is effective against larvae and mature forms of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes in cattle, sheep and goats (Haemonchus spp., Ostertagia spp., Cooperia spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Nematodirus spp., Bunostomum spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Dictyo­caulus spp.), pulmonary nematodes (Dictyocaulus spp.), and against lung and gastrointestinal nematodes of pigs (Ascaris suum, Strongyloides ransomi, Metastrongylus spp., Oesophagostomum spp.).

APPLICATION. Should be used in cases of parasitic gastroenteritis and lungworm caused by mature and developing immature forms of those organisms sensitive to treatment with levamisole hydrochloride. Treatment of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs in diseases caused by:

cattle, sheep and goats: gastrointestinal nematodes (adult and larval forms): Haemonchus spp., Ostertagia spp., Cooperia spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Nematodirus spp., Bunostomum spp., Oesophagostomum spp.; and pulmonary nematodes: Dictyocaulus spp.;

pigs: gastrointestinal nematodes: Ascaris suum, Stron­gyloides ransomi, Oesophagostomum spp; pulmonary nematodes: Metastrongylus spp.

DOSAGE. The drug should be administered by subcutaneous injection once at doses:

Cattle – 1 ml per 10 kg of bodyweight. The maximum dose – 30 ml per animal weighing more than 300 kg.

Sheep, goats – 1 ml per 10 kg of bodyweight. The max­imum dose – 5 ml per animal weighing more than 65 kg.

Pigs – 1 ml per 10 kg of bodyweight. For animals with bodyweight more than 150 kg, recommended dose is 4 ml per 50 kg. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

CONTRAINDICATIONS. Do not use for sick and ex­hausted animals, especially animals with diseases of liver and kidneys.

The product must not  be administered to lactating pregnant or animals in the last trimester of pregnancy and piglets weighing up to 10 kg.

Withdrawal Period

Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment.
Cattle and sheep  may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 7 days from the last treatment.
Milk may be used  for human consumption only after 10 days from the last treatment

Received before this terms  meat and milk must be used to  fed for  unproductive animals or disposed  in accordance with guidance from your local waste regulation authority.

STORAGE. Dry, dark place, away from children at the temperature from 5°C to 25°C.

Shelf life  – 3 years from the date of manufacture.
