1 vial contains:

Benzylpenicillin sodium sodium sterile – 1 000 000 units.

            Pharmacological properties

Benzylpenicillin sodium salt is a bactericidal antibiotic belonging to a group of natural penicillins. The drug inhibits the formation of peptide bonds due to the inhibition of transpeptidase, violates the late stages of the peptidoglycan synthesis of the cell membrane, leading to lysis of divided microbial cells.

The drug is active against gram-positive bacteria, in particular Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Bacillus spp., L. monocytogenes, E. rhusiopathiаe, most coriander bacteria and anaerobic bacteria (actinomycetes, Peptostreptococcus spp., Clostridium spp.), spirochete (Treponema spp., Borrelia spp., Leptospira spp.). The drug is insensitive to most gram-negative bacteria, the simplest, viruses, mushrooms and rickettsia. Of the gram-negative bacteria to the preparation, only Neisseria spp., Pasteurella multocida, H. Dugreyi are susceptible to the drug.

             Application

             Treatment of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, fur animals (foxes, polar foxes, minks), necrobacteriosis dogs, pasteurleozes, pneumonia, mastitis, metritis, wound infections, otitis media, urinary tract infections, septicemia, phlegmon, actinomycosis, emphysematic carbuncle, streptococcal septicemia of cattle, sheep and goats, horses tax, stoicotrocytoxicosis, streptococcus, staphylococcosis, infectious stomatitis, rhinitis, plague of fur animals and dogs, whipworms and other diseases caused by microorganisms and susceptible to benzylpenicillin.

             Dosage

A solution of sodium benzylpenicillin salt is prepared immediately before use.

The contents of the vial are dissolved in 1-3 ml of sterile water for injection or isotonic sodium chloride solution, or 0.5% solution of novocaine.

The drug is injected intramuscularly with an interval of 4-6 hours in doses:

The course of treatment is 4-7 days, with a severe course of the disease – 7-10 days.

Powder can also be used as a powder on the wound surface.

          Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to the drugs of the penicillin group or novocaine.

In the event of allergic reactions, animals are given antiallergic drugs (norepinephrine or adrenaline; 10% solution of calcium chloride; dimedrol).

Penicillin is highly toxic to muttons, hamsters.   

          Warning

The slaughter of animals for meat and the consumption of milk for human consumption is allowed, respectively, in 4 and 2 days after the last application of the drug. Obtained before the specified date, meat and milk are disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinary medicine physician.

          Storage

A dry, dark, inaccessible place for children at a temperature from 15 ° С to 25 ° С.

Expiration date – 3 years from the manufacturing date.
